FAQ
What is Circle of Security?
The Circle of Security Parenting™ Program is a tool to help caregivers connect with their children. The 8-chapter series is a facilitated reflective program delivered in group or individual formats. The program focuses on helping caregivers understand attachment theory through an accessible framework.
Who can benefit from this program?
Parents, caregivers, and anyone involved in a child's upbringing can benefit from the insights offered. While the program is designed for children aged 4 months through 6 years old, the lessons are timeless and can be applied to older children and teens as well.
What if my child is neurodivergent?
The Circle of Security Parenting™ Program helps parents separate the underlying needs from the diagnosis. Neurotypical and neurodivergent children alike have attachment needs, though neurodivergent children may express them differently. Parents can explore why certain moments feel so hard and how to react with compassion. The program can also help guide internal reactions of caregivers who are themselves neurodivergent.
Is there a cost involved?
Yes, there is a fee for participation, please see our pricing options under "Workshops". We recognize that cost can be prohibitive for some families and offer a limited number of spaces for those needing scholarships. Contact us for more information.
How long is the program?
The program is designed to take place over the course of 8 weekly sessions, which are 90 minutes each.
Where will sessions take place?
All meetings will be held virtually, with times listed in Pacific Standard Time.
Where can I find more information?
You can visit the Circle of Security International website for more general information on the program, or contact us directly for detailed information about working with Seidl's Circle.
Can my partner or co-parent join in the same group?
We only offer workshops for individuals and cannot enroll two adults from the same household (or coparents) at this time. Coordinating the needs of multiple caregivers of the same child(ren) requires a different approach that we are unable to offer.
